Edmonton nurse injectors and med spas need an authorized prescriber, a physician or a Nurse Practitioner, behind every treatment, and in Alberta that prescriber can work remotely. Plus One MD makes the introduction. For northern Alberta that matters more than anywhere else we work: many communities are hours from the nearest physician with any interest in aesthetics.
One Edmonton director, a very large map
Edmonton is the medical centre for everything north of Red Deer. A physician or NP based here can provide medical direction, by assessment over video and client-specific orders, to practices in places where an in-person director is simply not available:
- St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Leduc and Fort Saskatchewan, the ring around the city.
- Red Deer, about an hour and a half south.
- Lloydminster, about two and a half hours east on the Saskatchewan border.
- Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray, each roughly four and a half hours away.
A nurse in Grande Prairie cannot wait for a director to move there. If you are an Edmonton physician or NP, you can be the reason that practice opens.
For Edmonton physicians and Nurse Practitioners
You need to be registered in Alberta, with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta or, for NPs, the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Both colleges keep a public register, and that is where we check every director before any introduction. There is no separate licence for medical direction. What matters is that the treatments are within your scope and competence, and that you are prepared to do the work:
- Assess each client before anything is ordered.
- Write a client-specific order.
- Keep the practice's protocols current and review its charts.
- Be reachable when a nurse needs you, including for a complication.
You tell us how many practices you want and which treatments you will oversee. You choose every practice. Terms are agreed between you and the practice. Start with becoming a Medical Director in Alberta, or if you are an NP, where a Nurse Practitioner can be a Medical Director.
For Edmonton injectors and med spas
Whether you are an RN, an LPN or a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, the Alberta colleges expect the same two things before you inject a neuromodulator: additional education, and a client-specific order from an authorized prescriber. You also cannot order the product yourself. The detail is in can a nurse inject Botox in Alberta.
Send us one request and say where you practise, including if it is outside the city. Matching is free for injectors. We are still onboarding directors in Alberta, so a request sent now puts you in front of each new director as they join. If you know a physician or NP who might do this, introduce them.

How do I find a Medical Director in Edmonton?
Send one request to Plus One MD with your registration, the treatments you offer and where you practise. We check each physician and Nurse Practitioner against the Alberta college registers and introduce the ones who fit. It is free for injectors.
Can I get a Medical Director if I practise in Grande Prairie or Fort McMurray?
Yes. In Alberta the prescriber can be remote, so a physician or NP elsewhere in the province can assess your clients and issue client-specific orders.
Who can be a Medical Director in Edmonton?
A physician registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta, or a Nurse Practitioner registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta, within their scope and competence.
Is there a special licence to be a Medical Director in Alberta?
No. There is no separate licence. A physician or NP needs to be registered in Alberta and competent in the treatments they oversee.
