What directors ask us first.

You need to be a physician or Nurse Practitioner registered in good standing in the province where patients are treated, with competence in the treatments you will oversee. There is no separate licence. The steps are here.

A Nurse Practitioner can in most provinces, because NPs are authorized prescribers. A Registered Nurse or RPN cannot, because the role depends on being able to prescribe.

Alberta and Manitoba. Practices in both provinces are asking for introductions and we need more directors there than we have. See Alberta (Calgary and Edmonton) and Manitoba, where a Nurse Practitioner is the key.

Physicians and Nurse Practitioners registered with their provincial college. In most provinces a Nurse Practitioner can act as the authorizing prescriber for an aesthetic practice, and each patient still needs a client-specific order from a physician or NP.

We check your license or registration against the relevant provincial physician or nursing college, confirm that your scope aligns with aesthetic practice, and confirm your availability before we introduce you to anyone.

Plus One MD was established in Ontario and is now onboarding Medical Directors in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Founding directors in a new province get first pick of the practices there. The remote model is not offered in British Columbia or Quebec, where the prescriber must be on-site during the procedure.
