The trainer
| Ask | A good answer sounds like |
|---|---|
| 1. Who teaches, and what is their registration? | A name and a college registration you can look up yourself |
| 2. Do they still inject? | Yes, in a working clinic, this year |
| 3. How many learners per trainer? | Few enough that someone is watching your hands |
The training
| Ask | A good answer sounds like |
|---|---|
| 4. How much of the time is hands-on? | A specific number of clients you treat yourself |
| 5. Are the models real clients? | Yes, and the provider arranges them |
| 6. What exactly is covered? | Named treatments and named areas of the face |
| 7. Is complication management included? | Yes, including what to do in an emergency |
Afterwards
| Ask | A good answer sounds like |
|---|---|
| 8. Can I come back to shadow or ask questions? | Yes, and how |
| 9. What does the certificate mean? | That you attended. An honest provider says it does not change your scope |
| 10. What is the total fee, and what is not included? | One figure in writing, with product and models accounted for |
Walk away if
- They tell you the certificate lets you inject on your own.
- They cannot name who teaches.
- There is no hands-on time, or no complication training.
- They promise an income.

Tell us what you want to learn and we introduce you to an experienced injector or Medical Director who teaches it. We have already checked their registration and that they still practise. It is free for injectors. And remember the other half: in most provinces you also need a Medical Director before you treat anyone.
Have us find the trainer.
No fee to ask, no fee to be introduced. About 90 seconds.

What should I ask before paying for a Botox course?
Ask who teaches and whether they still inject, how many learners per trainer, how much time is hands-on with real clients, exactly what is covered, whether complication management is included, what support follows, what the certificate means, and the total fee in writing.
Does a Botox course certificate let me inject?
No. A certificate records that you attended. Your scope of practice is set by your regulatory college, and in most provinces a nurse also needs an order from an authorized prescriber.
Is the checklist free?
Yes. It is free to read and print, and there is nothing to sign up for.
